Default Meet the under 14 squad

BRADLEY WRIGHT

'Brads' is as good as any goalkeeper in the league after spending time working on his game. His goalkicks, both from his hands and from the floor are better than they have ever been and his shot-stopping is top drawer.

THOMAS KNIGHT

Thomas has improved his game beyond all recognition. The full-back boasts plenty of pace and skill among his attributes and has worked hard on the defensive side of his game.

THOMAS ELLIOTT

An experienced full-back who has played consistently well in the right-back position for Abbey. Strong in the tackle and is a determined player.

JACK WOODHOUSE

Captain marvel. Would run through a brick wall for the team and his leadership skills are a real asset. The tough-tackling no-nonsense centre half has made the position his own over the last few years.

MICHAEL FAZAKERLEY

Forms part of the best central defensive duo in the league alongside Jack. Has pace in abundance but has the skill to bring the ball out of defence and is assured and accomplished when in possession.

COREY IBBERSON

The full back spent a season in goal during the small-sided games but has established himself as a left back. On his day, the defender can be solid and reliable. Has a great attitude for the game.

SAM LEDGER

Skillful and talented right winger. Has a great eye for a pass and can deliver some telling crosses which often have the defence in trouble. Mr reliable.

REECE BENNETT

Took one of the player of the year awards last year after an excellent season. The central midfielder established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet and is a key player for the team.

RYAN PUGH

The Nick Montgomery of Abbey Lane. Loves a tackle and works hard for his team in central midfield. Also has a good footballing brain when he uses it and opponents can find it difficult to get past him.

MATHEW MEGSON

The winger was signed this season and has impressed in the early stages of his career. Although he is the smallest player in the team, he has pace and skill and can deliver some great crosses. Hard-working too.

ROBERT STURMAN

His work rate is simply phenominal. During each game, Rob will have covered every position as his pace and fitness stands him out from the rest. He is the team's driving force from midfield and helps us tick. Was also player of the year last season in his first season for the club.

GOKTURK DEMIR

He may be a Turkish delight for Abbey but he is a nightmare for opposition defences. The striker has pace to burn and is unpredictable. He is one of the team's main goal threats and can strike a ball like a rocket.

CONNOR LIGHTFOOT

Fox in the box. The one player you would want to be on the end of the crosses delivered by the likes of Ledger and Megson. The hard-working striker has an instinctive eye for goal and works the line well.

JOSH OXLEY-ADAMS

Can play anywhere in midfield and attack. He would be classed these days as a modern day forward. Loves using his skill and dribbling ability to beat defenders and has a great strike in his locker.

NATHAN STOREY

Nathan is an Abbey Lane old boy. Scooped the player of the year award on a number of occasions during the early years and hit 20 goals from midfielder at under 11s before leaving for a spell in the A Division. He has returned, taller, stronger and faster than before and is a welcome addition to the squad.
