Default Seven Games Gone

Well here we are seven games into the season and currently lying a very dissapointing seventh in the league. We were only planning on having a small squad this season, so it would be easier to try and keep all parents happy by being able to get everyone a good game. Realistically it doesn't work, as it only takes one to be ill or away and you are struggling to change things in a game, then suddenly the results start to go against you.
We had to do a little swapping and changing earlier on in the season to try and find players best positions, that benifited the team as well as the player. We seemed to hit the right formation for the SUJB game at home where we won 2-1 in very convincing fashion, but the jubilation of the win and the thought that we had got things right were short lived. The same night we had a parent ring saying they believe their lad to be too good for the team and he should be playing in the "A" Division. This was very dissapointing for me, as if this was the feelings maybe they should have left before the season started rather than let me turn players away. I have never as a manager stood in the way of progression for the lads, and have had quite a lot go on to have trials or even play for academies, i see this as being "what i am here for". This to me has really let the whole team down, but as i always say "no player is bigger than the team".
So from here we have to move on and try and get a couple more players in as we currently only have 12 players signed. As for results since the SUJB match, we lost 2-1 against Dronfield Town in a game that we created and missed so many chances, and should really have won the game. As for the last game, we played Ecclesfield Red Rose and won 1-0, we had a good penalty saved and had plenty of chances again, to make it a more convincing victory. We have a good honest bunch of players, that do seem to play better football when the opposition are stronger, and i believe with a couple of good additions we can start to climb the league. At the moment we are looking for an out and out striker and a defender/midfield player which would give us a little more depth in the team aswell as a little more fire power.
All isn't lost as there is still a long way to go in this season, and i am sure there are other teams out there that are in the same boat as us, hopefully there will be a few players around that will want to come and help us try to get back to the "A" division.
