Match Report

We were greeted with a superb Autumn morning, mist rising, birds singing.... the sun was shining... But enough of that we were here for a game of footy!

The game started at a good pace with both sides finding their rhythm.
Abbey displayed some really good defending and looked solid at the back, fully supported by the great shouts and direction of Katie.

Charlotte and lily were running the Doncaster defense ragged as was Tess down the left, and Elle down the Right.

Abbeys midfield were quick to win any loose ball sending it in all directions for the strike-force to get on the end of!

The opening came jut before half time, with a SUPER ground goal kick from Katie, Charlotte ran through and struck the ball wide of the keeper sending Abbey into the lead!
1 goal for Charlotte and one assist to Katie

The 2nd half saw Doncaster fired up and looking to get back on terms but some superb defending kept Abbey in front, Hanna, Lucy (x2) and Matilda were relentless at the back. When they won the ball they safely distibuted it and we were on the attack again.
Kelle now on the right had a couple of superb runs, Tess continued her superb workrate on the left, with the strikers running their socks off!

10 mins from the end a back pass gave Doncaster an indirect free kick on the edge of the 6yd box!!!! neither side had a clue what an indirect free kick was so some quick shouting later and all of Abbey are on the line with instructions to RUN!!!!!

Somehow the ball was stopped!

Final whistle 1 - 0 but some heart stopping moments!

A Great Team performance.. WELL DONE!
