Under the guidance of caretaker manager Jamie Wright, Abbey Lane under 14s earned a point at home to Hoyland. Abbey fell behind early on but Connor Lightfoot drew Abbey level. The home side were the better side but failed to make their possession count and looked to be heading for defeat when Hoyland broke with a rare attack and scored when the ball hit a divot and deceived goalkeeper Bradley Wright, who was very much a spectator in the second half. It looked as though it would be another game where Abbey would gain little reward for their efforts but with time running out, Rob Sturman found the net to earn his side a deserved point.
