Match Report

A glorious footballing day today.
Abbey started slowly, it took 5 mins to get out of our own half.
However, when we did we went down the other end and nearly scored.
Abbey were now in the game and started to dominate play apart from some breaking play from Brimwood.
Brimwood came close with another breaking move catching Abbey flat footed.

Abbey continued attacking and came close again putting the Brimwood goal under pressure.
Somehow within 2 mins abbe went behind by 2 goals!!! that looked like it was going to sum up our day!

However Joe Morley had better ideas, and went on his first solo run smashing the ball into the top of the net! WOW
3 goals in 3 mins!!!!

The 2nd half was much the same again, Abbey pressurizing the Brimwood goal again, how the ball stayed out is anyones guess!
Several corners were scrambled away and the ball somehow stayed out!!?

Another scramble, and the ball came to James who smashed it into the back of the net from the edge of the 18yd box!

Both sides had chances to win the game, but it was not to be.

A great game of football and sportsmanship from both sides.
A nice refreshing game for 2008

The lads played well and more than deserved their point.
