Smile Three Games Gone

Well we have played our first three games of the season and managed to get our first point of the season last week away to Beighton Magpies. We are still shuffling the pack a little trying to find the best formation and our strongest formation. This i believe we have now found, so lets see how we perform on Sunday away to Dodworth.
We knew it wasn't going to be easy to settle the team with so many new players and also lack of match practice. I am a firm believer of as many friendlies as possible before the season starts regardless of the quality of opposition so you can change things and finalise things before the season starts. This has not been possible this season through holidays etc,as we only managed to get two, and the mention of all next years holidays being cancelled brought a mixed reception from parents, "wouldn't it be ideal if every one went away the same two weeks".
Looking indepth at our three matches, there hasn't really been a great deal wrong, and i know people will always say managers always look to blame other people when things aren't going right. This is different in our case, as in our first match it was two silly errors by our goalkeeper (which he hasn't done since) which cost us that game, our second game we totally dominated the game from start to finish but lost due to not taking our chances and the third game where we got a point, everyone who was at that game can make their own opinion, and that is not a swipe at the Beighton Team or their Manager, the latter to me is a very good manager.
We have not had any luck at all, but as they say in football "you make your own luck", and that is exactly what we have to do. We have and hopefully always will play attractive football, commitment is there along with determination, we just need to settle the formation to what we feel is our strongest side. We have another player signed since my last article in DAN LONSDALE,he may be small, but he knows how to tackle and he definately knows how to get stuck in and play a ball.
Hopefully we can now get down to business of climbing up the league and push for promotion, we started last season very similar to this, and then went on a ten game unbeaten run which placed us at the top of the league, then had a lean spell at Christmas which cost us promotion, lets hope this season we can be more consistant.

LETS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LADS!!
